Didecyldimethylammonium Chloride – Ddca 80 – Ddmac 80

DDMAC is in the form of a slightly yellowish solid powder at 20 °C.

Its odor resembles that of mushrooms. At times, it may have a slight alcoholic smell.

Its boiling point is above 180 °C. It has the property of decomposing before boiling.

It does not have a fixed melting point. It melts at 94-100 °C.

Solubility of Didecyldimethylammonium Chloride: Soluble in acetone, highly soluble in benzene, insoluble in hexane.

Its density is 0.95 g/cm³.

In quaternary ammonium compounds, bio-solubility decreases as the number of alkyl chains increases.

It has the property of decomposing very quickly when in contact with air.
