Titanium Dioxide

In chemistry, titanium dioxide (TiO₂),titanium dioxideortitanium oxidealso known as,titaniumis a compound formed by the combination of the element with oxygen. Its chemical formula isTiO₂This compound is found in nature especially in mineral forms and most commonly inrutile, anatasecrystal forms.

Titanium dioxide,a white-colored compoundand is an important compound used in many industrial applications.

Production and Reactions

It is not found pure in nature and is produced from iron titanium dioxide (Fe3TiO3) ores.

Crude titanium dioxide can be obtained by purifying titanium tetrachloride.

In addition to white, a very beautiful red color similar to arterial blood can be obtained as a result of different crystallization.
